Com 1200 instructors
Although Com 1200 is a high
enrollment class, it does not use a large lecture format.
Instead, we offer many sections (usually about 32 a semester)
which are limited about 26 students apiece. Sections share a
common syllabus, but are individually taught by a well-qualified
graduate teaching assistant. In the Department of Communication,
we believe that we have some of the best TAs
at Mizzou. To learn more about what makes our TAs so good,
follow the highlighted link.
If you need to contact your
instructor, you can call or use e-mail. That information is
listed below. All instructors have the same campus mail address:
Department of Communication, 115 Swizler Hall. For postal mail,
address correspondence to:

Roles of Instructors and Course Director
The instructors do all of
the duties associated with day-to-day teaching of the course, other
than creating the packet materials and writing part of the exams, which
the course director does. The instructors teach the classes, and
they have the authority and responsibility to make all decisions
relating to their sections.
If you have an issue or
concern relating to Communication
1200 that requires some action, you should bring it to the attention of
your instructor rather than the course director. The instructors
make the decisions and implement what needs to be done. The
director is not involved with the day-to-day operation of your class,
and will refer you back to your instructor for such questions. Only if you have feedback regarding the performance of your instructor
do you need to contact the course director.
