Dr. Mitchell McKinney participated in a Roundtable Discussion on Political Internships and he gave a lecture on Political Communication at Western Kentucky University on October 15, 2003.
Neil Dwyer, Communication Major was crowned the 2003 Homecoming King.
Dr. Michael Kramer and Glenn
Hansen ran a 26 mile marathon in St. Louis in September.
Dave Silverman
was re-appointed to a second term on the Columbia Historic Preservation
Commission. He is currently Vice-Chair of the commission.

was promoted to Associate Professor in June 2003

Communication Major Victoria Rogers
has been selected to serve as an honorary Marshal for the May Commencement
Ceremony.
Dr. Debbie
Dougherty was featured in the "Shoot
'em up" article in the March 18, 2003 issue of the Maneater.
Communication Major Knut Sommerfeldt
was featured in the April 13, 2003 issue of the Columbia Daily Tribune.
Maria
Dixon has presented papers at the following conferences:
Southern States Communication Association on April 2-6, 2003 in
Birmingham, AL; NASPA (Student Affairs Administrators in Higher
Education) on March 22-26, 2003 in St. Louis, MO. She has also given
a series of lectures at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MN.
Joshua
Atkinson has had his article "Thumbing
Their Noses at 'The Man': An Analysis of Resistance Narratives About
Multinational Corporations" published in the journal
Popular Communication.
Dr. Mitchell

Campaign Rhetoric in the Internet Age: The 2000 Election and Beyond" which also featured presentations by former President George Bush,
and political consultants James Carville and Mary Matalin.

had his forthcoming paper, with Jeff Kerssen-Griep and April Trees,
"Sustaining the Desire to Learn: Dimensions
of Perceived Instructional Facework Related to Student Involvement
and Motivation to Learn" selected as a Top-4 paper in
the Instructional Development Division at the Western States Communication
Association conference.
Communication major, Kate Jeffries,
was featured in the 2003 issue of Mosiacs with her role in the play "Trash".
Dr. John McHale was featured in the

his documentary "Unreasonable Doubt:
The Joe Amrine Case."
