Audrey Abeyta (M.A., University of California, Santa Barbara) is an instructor in the Department of Communication. Her research explores the creation and consumption of online information, focusing specifically on individuals’ motivations to share information online and their assessment of that information. Currently, she is completing her dissertation, which draws on moral foundations theory and social identity theory to examine partisan processing of online political information.

Before joining the Department of Communication, Audrey taught courses in public speaking, quantitative research methods and statistics, and group communication.
