For a man who lived through the Great Depression, World Wars I and II, the Cuban missile crisis and everything since, not much scared him, his son Tony Reid said.
Dr. Reid, who had a 35-year career as an MU speech professor, died Dec. 25, 2014.. He was 109.
“I think you could say that he helped to put the department on the map,” said Mike Porter, a former head of MU's Communication Department. “He made what we do important, and he did it with great style and great scholarship.”
