Dr. Ben Warner, Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Communication at the University of Missouri, was appointed to the Executive Committee of the National Communication Association and to serve as Chair of National Communication Association’s Research Council.

Dr. Warner is a lifelong member of the political communication division and has conducted award-winning research on presidential campaign debates, as well as the causes, consequences, and remedies of political polarization. He has edited books on the 2016 and 2020 presidential election campaigns and is preparing a third on the 2024 election. His research appears in Communication Monographs, Political Communication, Journal of Applied Communication Research, Mass Communication & Society, Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, among several other disciplinary and interdisciplinary outlets. Dr. Warner also teaches graduate-level courses on quantitative research methods, political communication, and campaign debates at the University of Missouri.
