PCI co-directors Ben Warner and Mitchell McKinney, along with collaborators Mary C. Banwart and Dianne Bystrom, just published an edited collection of studies of the 2020 US presidential election. Democracy Disrupted: Communication in the Volatile 2020 Presidential Election includes analysis of the violent insurrection at the US Capitol on January 6th and the disturbing events leading up to that moment, the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of national Black Lives Matter protests in the summer of 2020, alongside traditional studies of campaign communication such as the debates, ads, and media coverage.
