The Media & Diversity Center Hosts Mentorship Series
The Media & Diversity Center Hosts Mentorship Series
The Media & Diversity Center (MDC) invites graduate students, postdocs, and early career faculty conducting research related to new technologies, communication, and equity to participate in a virtual workshop series on September 12 and 19, 2025.
"Connecting Scholars: Research Mentorship and Publishing Pathways for Early Career Scholars Investigating Emerging Technologies, Communication, and Equity"
This mentorship series is designed to connect scholars across the discipline who are researching issues of emerging technologies (e.g., social media, AI, virtual/augmented reality), equity, and communication. Faculty mentors will discuss issues such as building a network, choosing the right journals, and responding to reviewers, and will provide small group mentorship to participants.
This event is funded by an NCA Advancing the Discipline Grant and organized by Drs. Lissa Behm-Morawitz (University of Missouri), Jesse Fox (The Ohio State University), and Julius Riles (University of Missouri). See the attached flyer for more details, including the list of mentors. Application review for this no-cost (free!) workshop series will begin August 1, 2025. Apply here.
