Can Liu is a first-year doctoral student in the Department of Communication. She received her master’s degree in Global Journalism from the University of Sheffield and her bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Hunan Normal University. Can is interested in mediated communication. Her research focuses on dissecting the multifaceted nature of racial and ethnic stereotypes in the media, including culture, lifestyles, ideologies, and political opinions. Can is also a teaching assistant for COMM 2100 (Media Communication in Society).
