Evan Kirksey

Evan Kirksey is a doctoral candidate and graduate instructor of record at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He studies organizational communication with an emphasis in disability and neurodiversity studies. Driven by a passion for understanding disability as a lived, embodied experience, Evan’s research focuses on the sociomaterial manifestations that surround disablity employment, organizational space, and time. Evan’s research has appeared in Qualitative Inquiry, Western Journal of Communication, Southern Communication Journal, and more.
Evan has previously served as the Student Representative for the National Communication Association’s Disability Issues Caucus. In MU’s Department of Communication, he currently serves as the Graduate Assistant to the Director of Undergraduate Studies, and the Graduate Assistant Public Speaking Director.
