4.16 Policy on Faculty Office Assignments
When assigning offices in a new space or when an office becomes available because of the departure of a faculty member, the chair will use the following order to fill the available office space.
• The faculty member with the highest rank (professor, associate professor, assistant professor, adjunct professor, instructor)
• Within equal rank, the faculty member with the most years at that rank.
• Within equal rank and years at that rank, the faculty member with the most years of employment at the university.
• If there are two faculty members of the same rank and the same number of years at that rank and employment, then either by mutual consent or a coin toss.
• A faculty member cannot be forced to move from a current office due to changes in rank of faculty members.
• Emeritus professors may continue in their current office is space allows.
