Bio

Breanna “Bre” Prater (M.S. Texas Christian University) is a doctoral candidate and graduate instructor of record at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She studies organizational communication with an emphasis on calling and vocational organizing. Rooted in the interpretive paradigm, her research employs a variety of applied and arts-based methods to explore the lived experiences of individuals grappling with meaningful work and pursuing vocational or calling careers. Bre’s research has appeared in Qualitative Research Reports in Communication. 

Bre has previously served as the Graduate Student Representative for the Organizational and Professional Communication Division at the Central States Communication Conference. At Mizzou, Bre also works with the Academic Access and Leadership Development department where she does undergraduate mentorship and program coordination.
