A Search Committee Chair (SCC) will be selected in connection with all job searches. The SCC should be from the area of emphasis for the job posting. The SCC may be a volunteer or should be selected by the other faculty in the area of emphasis. The job of the SCC is to work with other faculty to solicit potential applicants, gather the files (applications, letters of recommendation, and other materials), and to identify stronger candidates working with the other members from the area of emphasis. The committee of the whole faculty will still make the final interview and hiring decisions.
